Welcome to our Home Mimi (cat)

Since our household was reduced to just the three of us, Jamie left for College and Jack in US Navy, we decided to get another cat. Maureen and Jenna pick adopted our little friend from a local rescue and brought her home last month. It has taken some time for her and Maddie (our other cat) to get adjusted to one another. Mimi is quite the adventurer. She loves climbing the walls and getting as high as she can on our furniture. She also loved to destroy our furniture. Within a couple weeks she destroyed a number of wicker hampers and would scratch wherever she could. We decided since she is going to be an indoor cat it was best to declaw her. I don't consider it cruel or inhumane. She has all her need met and will be a very happy and content cat.

The procedure is not without pain but it is short lived and you have a lifetime of a well behaved cat who otherwise will just tick you off by destroying your favorite furniture even though they have umpteen places for them to claw where they are supposed to. Think of it. Which is worse the cat losing its claws and the two of you getting along for the cats life? Or a cat always in trouble for doing what comes naturally? Cats don't miss those claws once they get used to it. And that takes very little time for them to do.
