Yesterday I went to the Doctor to have the cast taken of my leg. I had a tendon tear repaired on August 4th and have been in a cast for 6 weeks. You can see the post Peroneal Tendon Injury for details on that. Anyway as you can see from the picture there still is a good bit of swelling and I cannot get a shoe on comfortably. I thought I was going to begin physical therapy once I was out of the cast but the doctor siad that in his experience with this type of injury it is best for the patient to wait a couple weeks before they begin therapy. This increases the success rate significantly. This means I could possibly be out of work for another month. I'm not sure I even have enough sick leave to cover that. I'll call the office later today and find out. I'm going to try and do some light walking and stationary bike stuff to see if I can speed up the recovery time and get some use of my ankle back. I made an appointment with a physical therapy office here in town and it will start on September 29th.
