It is the 8th anniversary of that tragic attack on the United States resulting in the deaths of nearly 3,000 people at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon and the airliner over western Pennsylvania. I remember that day like it was yesterday. I've read lots of stuff on the different theories as to who was responsible. Nevertheless these Towers went down and today is a day to remember those who died that day and all the brave men and women who helped in the recover efforts.
Here are some quotes of famous people after the 9 11 attacks:
“Freedom itself was attacked this morning by a faceless coward. Freedom will be defended!” by President George W. Bush, September 11, 2001.
“No just cause can be advanced by terrorism.” by Koffi Anan.
“If the culprits are Muslim, they have twisted the teachings of Islam. Whoever performed, or is behind, the terrorist attacks in the United States of America does not represent Islam. God is not behind assassins.” by Muhammad Ali.
“The best defense against terrorism is a strong offensive against terrorists. That work continues.” by President George W. Bush.
“These acts shattered steel, but they cannot dent the steel of America’s resolve.” by President George W. Bush.
“At this critical moment, the United States can rely on its Allies in North America and Europe for assistance and support. NATO solidarity remains the essence of our Alliance. Our message to the people of the United States is that we are with you. Our message to those who perpetrated these unspeakable crimes is equally clear: you will not get away with it.” by NATO North Atlantic Council, 11 Sep 2001.
“Time is passing. Yet, for the United States of America, there will be no forgetting September the 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. We will remember the fire and ash, the last phone calls, the funerals of the children. ” by President George W. Bush.
9/11 was a terrible day in American History. Lets not forget....
